OEM re-reinstallation not activating
I had my OEM Windows 7 (upgraded to 10 Home) installation on my HDD and I was preparing to transfer it to my new SSD. I downloaded the ISO using the media creation tool (I think the selected edition was Windows 10). Burned it to USB, installed it, worked perfectly, activated fine. Next day though, I had my own reasons to reinstall that installation (using the same USB), but when I reinstalled again it installed the Pro version :S I don't know why, it didn't give me any option for it when installing.. but it wouldn't activate once installed. Ran the tool again to download "Windows 10 Home Single Language" because it said Home and I wanted to be sure, and it installed just that version... but it isn't activating like it should. I don't know if it needs to be exactly "Windows 10 Home", but there are so many inconsistencies here it's driving me crazy.
Error code 0x803F7001 "Activation failed because this device doesn't have a valid digital entitlement or product key."
I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 and my product key is very different from W10 keys. If I click "change product key" it doesn't let me enter 0's and tells me they're an invalid character. My key is also shorter.
I need some help here cause I don't want to have to buy a whole new copy of windows. Should I contact support directly or might there be a fix?
