Update for Microsoft Visual C++ ~ Endless Installation

Every day since 14 January, I have received the message:

Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)
    Successfully installed on 1/xx/2016

The 'xx' is of course 14 - 26.

Why is this package continuously installing and how do I stop it? It is always the same message with only the successful date changed.

Try uninstalling it completely, run ccleaner then let it install again.

(remember with ccleaner to check all the cleaning options for things that you want to keep such as history)
