Understandable- too many of those with Win 10 for some.
In build 1607, Active hours constrains restarts, max a consecutive 12 hour period. My personal experience is that I've not had unexpected restarts- and been notified of a pending restart- even outside the Active hours period. How nice is that?
Gregyurkon,
Did you ever find a fix for this issue? I have a new HP laptop and Windows Update notifies me daily of new updates. I have a older HP laptop and it has never notified me when new updates became available. Both laptops have Windows Update set to notification mode and both laptops are currently running 14393.594.
While I have used Windows Tweaker on numerous occasions I have not tried it with this particular tweak. I will give it a try, but after reading how it works I have my doubts it will correct my old HP laptop. As I have mentioned in my first post I have all ready set Window Update to notification mode which is what Method One of this tweak does. It changes/adds a registry entry that I all ready have in place and when updates are available it does not download or install them; however it never gives me a notification that updates are available via the Action Center like my new HP laptop does.
Edit: Restored Windows Update to Automatically, downloaded and ran latest version of Windows Tweaker. I followed the instructions for Change Windows Update Settings Method One and restarted the computer. So far the results are the same. Windows Update does not download or install updates, but no notifications of available updates are given via the Action Center.
Thanks for responding and for the suggestion. I gave it a go, but still no banana on old laptop.
