Yes, I get a need to restart, followed by some kind of memory error pop-up, followed by repeated failures to retry the update.
I am going back to a backup before the latest build from over a week ago, reinstalling the latest preview, and trying the updates again. Sigh.. This build is a mess.

As far as I can tell the only change it made was adding the 'update branch' option.

I tried from a backup - same thing - failures (but no memory error this time). I am now going to try fresh iso install.

This seems to be a work-around that may be applicable:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...eview2014Setup

I will try this after the w10tp iso has finished downloading in my 7 boot and I have restored my w10tp backup from today,

Doesn't work, it just re-instates the 'Preview Builds' link in PC Settings.
(it also re-instates Windows Update in Control Panel!)

Worked for me. I set it to 0 and I did updates and got the same result as you. I then set it back to 1 and everything seems fine now (no failed update or windows update in control panel etc.). Says my device is up-to-date.

This preview build offered in WU today isn't intended for outside users. Was a goof by MS. Only for MS employees. That's why you can't download it.
