OK. Thank you.
I am still perplexed why you don't get updated to new10586 version.
Did you do a registry tweak and stop Windows Update ?
If you want to install version 10586, use this method...........................
Use one of the 2 links below to download the iso file, then use it to do an in-place upgrade install.
Media Creation Tool (MCT)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
Tech Bench
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench
Using MCT as example................
Download the Tool and run it.
Then select Create installation media for another PC
That will begin downloading the ISO file to your computer.
When download is completed, RIGHT click at the ISO > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
That will begin installing Windows 10.
You have the choice of keeping settings, files and apps, or keeping nothing.
No product key is required.
Activation will be automatic.
Thanks for the info on downloading the MCT and its instructions. No changes to registry and did not stop Windows update.
Downloading the ISO now but the blue progress box has now disappeared so I'm unable to see the progress of the download. My modem IS blinking like crazy as if I'm downloading something. (hopefully the continuing ISO download.) I guess it's going to take awhile for I only have a 1.5 Mbps internet speed. Thanks for your help with updating my Windows 10.
I'm just curious. What part of Canada do you live in? I frequently visit the Lake Ontario region between Hamilton and Gananoque/Kingston.
I am not having high hope to solve your problem.
You must have problems stopping you from updating to new windows 10 version.
I am across the lake from Buffalo, USA.
After figuring out what I did wrong earlier, I started over and I am now up to date!
The "About Windows" is now showing:
Microsoft Windows
Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.63)
Windows 10 Home operating system
When I visit the western side of the lake I come in either at Fort Erie or Niagara Falls.
Thank you again for your help and have a great day!:)
