I doubt it. The thing with Windows is that if you take it just as it is and use just Microsoft services you're doomed. Windows system Restore and System Images come to mind they've never worked in my testing.

I've replaced Windows System Restore with Rollback Rx and use Acronis for my disk imaging. Because even though Windows is a Microsoft OS it's almost a joke because I don't know anyone who uses Windows as it is.

    Probably not.

I actually prefer a lot of Microsoft products to Apple, I prefer the iPhone to Windows Phones (purely for the app store size), but I use OneDrive as a preference to iCloud, I use my Microsoft email account over my Apple one, I always use the Microsoft Office Suite for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

On my laptop I prefer Outlook, though on my iPhone I prefer the integrated mail app.

Microsoft is massively integrated at the moment, if there is going to be a shift in market share it's going to be very, very slow.

I think it's fair point people getting put off by Windows Updates. The forced implementation isn't very popular, especially the driver updates. If updates could be trusted to be QA tested thoroughly maybe people would be more open but I read enough horror stories (and have had my own fingers burned a couple times) about bad Windows updates getting through. Also stuck updates and the many problems people had getting TH2. It's not great. That being said Apple aren't much better, their standards have slipped. I don't use OSX as prefer Windows (mainly for gaming reasons) but iOS has been pretty horrific bug-wise in recent times. I use the iPhone over an MS phone because I am so heavily invested in the iTunes store and have accessories like the Apple watch and Apple TV but I have been very unhappy with iOS and the constant nerve wracking updates they seem to push out every few weeks wondering what they will break next just to include a new silly emoji (or whatever those things are).

Unfortunately both MS and Apple do a lot of change for the sake of change and good features get dropped or broken. Bugs materialise and never get fixed and the bug list tends to grow with 'new' stuff rather than get smaller. Hopefully Windows 10 being the only windows will be a good direction as the OS is allowed to mature but I suspect the drive for new features every few months with threshold updates will just cause more and more bugs. Effectively a threshold update is like installing a new OS over your existing one which is a tense affair at the best of times. Having to go through this every few months is not a particulary appealing thought!
