    Adobe flash updates

So updates to flash were released yesterday - quite a while ago yet Windows 10 still hasn't mirrored these when checking for updates. I find Adobe incredibly annoying with its constant need to update but surely if MS is going to integrate the updates as part of its OS it needs to apply them faster. I presume nobody else is seeing the update for flash offered? I went ahead and manually did it for Mozilla already. Just IE 11 and edge both sitting there unpatched and vulnerable until MS pulls it's finger out

There are Two Versions of Flash...

In Windows MS controls Flash Player Activex via windows updates....

The reference to Flash you are referring to is the Flash Player Browser plugin...

Ok thanks, should Windows update not be updating the active X element though? In past update usually pulls it in pretty quick. If I go to a site like speedtest.net right click and select 'about' it takes you to Adobe version check page. The latest version listed for edge is later than the current version in the browser. I've never had to manually update the browser plug in on Windows 10 for IE 11 or edge myself. Maybe MS are just a little late releasing this to the OS post Christmas etc

Yes, apologies typo. I've never had to update the active X element manually. Regardless of plug in / active X a new version of Adobe exists for flash player and MS have not pushed it down the pipe. Surely they should be doing this asap. It's not a big deal but I am interested to see if others running 10 have seen flash update via Windows updates since yesterday.

    cheers

I just got a "security downdate" for Flash, but I think that's for any Flash that's native in Windows 10's IE. Every browser has it's own version of Flash. Firefox has a version, Chrome has a version, IE has a version. Lately I removed them all so all that's left is the Native version.

Most sites are starting to use HTML5 rather than flash, it just works a lot better.
