    You do keep the Search bar next to the "win logo", do you ?
    If yes, type windows update into the box > a popup box will appear > click Check for updates >
    You should be on Windows Update windows now.

    windows update returns me to the desktop. I have a support tech in my machine, he is going to do a windows refesh after doing loads of examinations.

    Just a word of advice ................ try not to delete too many "things" unless you know such action will not create adverse effect.

    did full refresh and updates, got my own desktop back, no users (2) and going now for fresh install. AGH!!!
