I haven't received this update yet, could someone already installed please tell me what the difference it made.
@clusterhead you are welcome
For any one having problems with the dism command use file explorer to check for the file directory under
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\
which contains this file windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab for x64 systems
or
the file windows10.0-kb3122947-x86.cab for x86 systems
now replace the directory you will get into this command (replace the red line directory)
x64 systems
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\c4a1b8896ce9fbfea96c1ee6890d52a5\windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab
x86 systems
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\b0a5da1b24245bc4237166e09bae92da\windows10.0-kb3122947-x86.cab
Hi!
After an upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1511 from an earlier version of Windows 10, a very small number of users may have had their settings for Advertising ID, Background Apps, SmartScreen Filter, and Sync with Devices incorrectly set to the system defaults.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3122947This update doesn't replace a previously released update.
It installed without a hitch on 10 Home on my laptop. It also shows .17 instead of .26
Cluster Head, question for you; on Page 2 of this thread you show the properties for this cab file and it shows a version of 10586.26. I thought then that when this update was installed the Winver version would change from .17 to .26. If you use Winver, what does your version show?
Winver shows 10586.17 on this PC. This PC has not received kb3122947 at all, failed or otherwise. Windows update shows it as all up to date when I run it manually.
