I have it listed in installed updates twice as failed... still failing for me... this is a clear MS bug

    I don't know how someone here has a .26. I'm still at .17.
Because they're using the insider preview builds (not officially released for everyone yet)

Ok that makes sense I guess I'm ok now even though I had that update error before that cab file thing someone posted.

If it failed might be a corrupted win update thingy caused by 02 dec update kb3116908. Big problem but correctable. One solution. Windows updates failed, Want to delete all failed update files in - Microsoft Community

After an upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1511 from an earlier version of Windows 10, a very small number of users may have had their settings for Advertising ID, Background Apps, SmartScreen Filter, and Sync with Devices incorrectly set to the system defaults.
This update doesn't replace a previously released update.

Most everyone should already have KB3122947 already installed. It was installed on my computer on 12-4 and windows just tried to send it to me again....
My Update History seems to purge itself of all entries every 48 hours. Microsoft is steadily tarnishing its own image for some reason. How can a company become so un-friendly to users after more than two decades of doing such a good job of taking care of us?

My update history goes back to 11/13.

Look in control panel -> programs and features -> View installed updates
