Laptop fail to update to build 10586 ....

I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. Both desktop update fine to build 10586 but the laptop keep saying up to date after check. Even try Lan connection still no go for laptop to update. Any suggestion to force laptop to update? All running Windows 10 Pro.

Use the media creation tool. The update servers are busy right now. I had to do one of mine this way. From the tutorial forum. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/9...-download.html .

Might this explain why my Win 10 tablet is stuck at 0% downloading of this update?

I can't say, I just got tired of waiting. The distribution system is uneven today. One pc upgraded via windows update right away. Another I could not get to connect using windows update. So I tried the media creation tool. It connected immediately. It sounds like your connection timed out and got stuck. If you want to upgrade right now try the tool, you don't have to make a disk or USB stick, it will update the os through the tool.

My problems seem to have gone beyond just not updating - see here

My bad, first time use media creation tool end up with build 10240 instead of 10586. Over look the version of setup.exe before installing. End up doing everything twice in order to get laptop to build 10586. There is no control over which build being download by the tool.

Build 10586 had problems with a couple of the drivers in my system. Try removing all extraneous hardware and go into the BIOS and disable what ever you can. If the upgrade installs after that, go back and turn on and reconnect everything one item at a time, until you find the device causing the problem.
