1. Has this Win 10 installation EVER been activated?
2. If not, have you recently tried to upgrade from Win 7 or 8.1?
3. Or have you, for example, clean installed Win 10 and then tried to activate it with a Win 7 or 8 key?

it has an orginal windows 7 license and i upgraded to windows 10 and it was worked just fine for many years.
but recently i begon getting blue screens regarding DPC Watchdog Violation. please see this thread for more information.

exactly. i upgraded this windows from a legal windows 7. so at this point i dont know what else i can do.
The free upgrade from '7 was stopped a few months back.
If you had a validly activated Win 10 after such an upgrade then any major change of hardware could invalidate it.

okay. i have bought a windows 10 pro license. now what do i need to do? since the deactivation procedure does not seem to work for me.
Settings > System > About > Related > Product key and activation > Change product key > Change > input new key details
