The title basically gives it away. I try to make windows update install the aformentioned update and it just instantly stops and gives me that error code.
I also cannot install KB3081448, but with Error 0x800f0900.
Ran "sfc /scannow",attached CBS.log
Ok I got it to work. I followed these instructions:
press WindowsKey+R, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Click "Computer Configuration", click "Administrative Templates", click "System", and then double-click the "Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair" setting.
Select "Enabled", click check box for "Contact Windows Update directly...." - apply and OK
Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator. (You can also right-click on the start button and select "Command Prompt (Admin)")
Type the following 5 commands at the CMD prompt:
>WSReset.exe
>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
>dism /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
>sfc /scannow
>powershell
>Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
Close the CMD window.
Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.
I ran the downloaded offline installer for KB3081448, success!!

So WSReset.exe is the first command, it will reset the windows app store and actually launch the store on your PC.
Close the Store screen and then return to the cmd screen and just press Ctrl-C to get the prompt back.
Then enter each command from there on on it's own line and Enter then wait for each command to complete before continuing.
Hope this helps
Thanks for taking the time to help.
I'm still not getting it, though. I type in WSReset.exe, then ctrl+c to get the prompt back, then when I type "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" it just gives me this text:
"Deployment Image Servicing and Management toolVersion: 10.0.10240.16384
Image Version: 10.0.10240.16384"
and then no matter what I do, I can't get the prompt back.
