yeah i don't no i don't like violating software licenses or intentionally doing so . i may do some checking and se if my student stuff qualifies me to use it and not violate it in any way .

First, I would say you qualify as a student. Second, if you are that brutally honest about complying with terms and conditions, then realize that you cannot purchase the cheaper OEM system builder's licenses and use them on your own personal computer, either (except Windows 8.1, which was weird). So you either need to qualify yourself as a student, or you need to purchase a full retail packaged product in order to comply with all Microsoft Terms and Conditions.

very true i may give MS a call on monday and see if i qualify as a student .

If you're able to get a "Windows 10 pro retail version", you will be able to use it in the far future without problems.

that is also true i do have windows 10 pro on my laptop , i was going to use another copy on my imac intel version with boot camp assist so i have 2 operating systems on this machine makes life simpler and its 27 in so much bigger machine.

I think you ought to check how you activate.

MS methods have varied over time, across products & between countries.
There were academic versions of Office for which you had to register & activate using an academic email address. Without that, you could not use the software at all.
I cannot give you any details. I only know about it because I once had to register an academic version of MSOffice and I noticed that if I was in the USA or if it was a later version then I would have needed the academic email address i.e. someplace.ac.uk or equivalent.

The activation for Windows 10 Pro Education is the same as for any other Windows. You enter the product key, you get a permanent digital license. I know.
