    Unusual window showing because of Win Updates?


    Hello
    I have been contacted by my brother to ask what this window is. It appears intermittently when he first boots into Windows.
    He updated Windows two days before this window started to show. The window cannot be moved and covers anything behind it. The pc has to be restarted to get rid of it.
    We checked Windows Updates history and found that although he has Windows version 22H2the Cumulative updates that installed are for Windows version 21H2.
    Do not know if the blank window is related to Windows Updates or is a different issue.

    Any help will be most appreciated.

    The WinSpy utility can help you find out what creates that window.

    Oh, and many CUs are for both 21H2 & 22H2 so that might not indicate a problem at all.
    Search TenForums for the CU by its KB number [choose 'Search titles only'] to find the article about it in the TenForums News section. That will state which Versions it applies to.

    By way of a wild guess (based on one I've seen that does that) do you use PC Equalizer by any chance?

    As Try3 says, a tool such as Winspy or Process Explorer which similarly has a small target you can drag over the window in question should help you.

    @Try3 Thank you for your input. I have downloaded WinSpy, I just have to wait for the blank window to reappear.

    @dalchina No I do not have PC Equalizer.
