I'm also having trouble installing this file, it gives me a 0x8007000d, ran the troubleshooter to no avail. It just says files are missing or has problems when failed.

If anyone have Windows Mixed reality installed, uninstall it, then try to update windows. Seems like KB4571756 will FAIL to install if you have Windows Mixed reality installed. To uninstall go to Start, Settings, Mixed Reality, Uninstall. reboot. Reinstall mixed reality after updating windows.

Wow! That worked, thanks! That is so odd for WMR to cause a problem for this update.

Have you by any chance run ResetBase cleanup? It damages Windows permanently.
If the next update fails as well, you might try a repair-upgrade with an updated ISO.

Yes, one of the problem is, that it prevents Windows from installing updates ever again. I had the same error message whenever I ran it. Since it is disabled by default, MS does not consider it as an issue.

OHH no, I think I'll pass on that one, or did you mean did I run it? No I haven't. I have searched and searched to resolve this from disabling .net 4.7 even one for using policy's I just gave up, just another broken update from MS. Least this one didn't install and break my machine like past updates have. It's just really sad when you see an update offered, first thing I do is research it before I installing it LOL

Something is really screwed up with my windows update too. Can't install sept update. I also see another windows update within optional and this won't install either. I did install one of these optional "preview" updates in the past so I wonder if that screwed up my system.

I also can't install kb4577063, same error. This is the update that fixes the TRIM bug in windows 10, HOW can MS allow this update to not be installed given how badly it can damage peoples SSD's?????
