    Which type of updates will be installed automatically


    There are 3 typesof Windows Updates, Important, Recommended and Optional,

    Which of these 3 types of updates will be downloaded and installed automatically?

    Hello big10,

    In Windows 10 Home, it would be all of them.

    Otherwise, you could use this below in the Windows 10 Pro an Enterprise editions.

    Actually, there are more types than that.

    There are Critical, Moderate, and Low. These are for security updates.

    Then there are Important, Recommended and Optional. These are non-security related updates, such as compatibility fixes, new features, or performance improvements.

    Yes, do not have these options in Windows 10, picking and choosing optional if any.

    Yes, my SSD has only 250 gb, it is likely that the space in drive C will be eaten up by the updates.

    In Windows 8.1, I choose only Important updates.

    Doubtfully, updates are not too large, use disk cleanup afterwards. Can also buy bigger SSD have decreased in price.

    Windows 10 is designed to work on 32GB tablets. 250GB is more than plenty. Updates may temporarily take space while they are being installed, but they get cleaned up afterwards.

    May be I am worrying too much. I have noticed there are lots of Recommended an Optional updates in Windows 8.1.

    I have a Samsung 250GB on my system too. Use a second drive if you are.
