Activation windows 10 pro insider build 10162. I have some questions

Hello guys. I will try to be direct. The notebook which i installed Windows 10 TP was running Windows 8.1 and i installed the HOME build 10130, over the 8.1 version. But i had some problems with Windows update and boot, so i did a clean install of Windows 10 preview build 10162, but in the PRO version(I thought it would be home version, but didn't happened). Ok, before that, i picked up the product key of the OEM version(8.1) and now, with build 10162, Windows its not activated. I used the key given by Microsoft, but it simply doesnt work. Appears a message that the activation server blocked the key. I just received the build 10240 by windows update, and i'm downloading now, but here's the question: To activate Windows properly, i have to install 8.1 again, put the key and install Windows 10 oficial? The OEM product key has a lifetime if not in use? I can do something different to activate it? I will be grateful if someone give me a good answer :)

in case your willing to recreate the 10162 build and be able to select the home build at boot install process you need to add a ei.cfg to your sources folder from the 10162 iso...

mount the iso then copy all files to a folder

open notepad and put the folling on it

    [Channel]
    OEM

now save the file by changing to all files and name it ei.cfg

now copy it to the sources folder

if you have oscdimg.exe from the windows adk for 8.1

open a command prompt with elevated privledges

type the following in the cmd prompt

    oscdimg.exe -m -o -u2 -udfver102 -bootdata:2#p0,e,bg:\boot\etfsboot.com#pEF,e,bg:\efi\microsoft\boot\efisys.bin g:\ d:\path\to\new\name-of-the.iso
    replace g:\ with C:\path\to\copied\10162\folder\
    you'll notice the g:\is listed 3 times

    example

    oscdimg.exe -m -o -u2 -udfver102 -bootdata:2#p0,e,bC:\win10-10162\boot\etfsboot.com#pEF,e,bC:\win10-10162\efi\microsoft\boot\efisys.bin C:\win10-10162\ C:\win10-10162-uefi.iso

use your favorite buring program to burn the newly created iso

reboot system to test by hitting esc key or what ever it is to get to your boot options if your system is uefi capable the cd drive will have an * next to it

    good luck
