So fixed my problem by going back to the Insiders main site and rejoining(?) the Insider Program. There's 2 buttons - "Get Started", and "already an Insider, sign in". I "got started" and now my Windows Update is back to the Fast Ring

Still can't see 10162 tho lol

What do you mean by "I got started"?

I went to Home page - Windows Insider Program, and clicked "Get Started" (auto logged me in, as I did it from MS Edge on my MSA). Few minutes later fixed my problem with Insider Builds.

Though I haven't been able to download any Insider builds yet, as 10162 is not showing up :P.

Didn't work for me. Are you sure you are not logged into your PC on your Microsoft Account?

I am logged in with MSA. While logged in, went to Insider website, clicked "get started" and it worked a few minutes later (maybe logged out/in, dunno). Maybe try adding a different MSA to the Insider Program, then create it on that PC and see if it works then?

Naturally, if you are logged in with your Microsoft Account, you will get the updates. The price you are paying for them is your privacy.

If you are concerned about your privacy, then you shouldn't be running the TP, lol. Even on a Local Account you're still sending info to MS about computer performance/apps and whatnot.

MS is using data for TP related purposes. If Final had the same privacy comprising functions, then it would be sketchy as hell (and I woulden't use it), but MS needs data from the TP to improve W.10/fix bugs.

This seems to be Microsoft's way of catching up with Google.

Microsoft is forcing us to use a Microsoft Account rather than a Local Account and to sign in every time so it can use our personal data to its own advantage and for its own profit just like Google has been doing for many years.
Except I've been signing in with a MS Account since the very beginning. That's not the problem - the problem is the logic of the algorithm is borked, and has no idea what state its in.

Talk about denial... Non-insiders cannot get the preview (see https://insider.windows.com/). Insiders want new builds but do not want to pay for them with their privacy. Being a Power User and a VIP Member does not make one a Microsoft spokesman.
Too bad. Don't be in the Insider Program then. It's not like you have some right to preview builds...

Your deal with Microsoft could have been simple: they give you the preview, you test it for them and give them feedback. They get much more out of it than you do. You take risks, they don't. They get vital info from you. Anyway, you can get the ISO of Build 10162 here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso Hope this helps.
