Because I have two systems I decided to upgrade one to full win 10, and keep the second on the Insider Program. . .:)

Multi-boot Windows 10/11 - RTM, RP, Beta, and Insider

I do both... dual boot... have had no issues and think this OS is just really slick! To use old school terms, it has nice tight code. I will remain an insider and run my RTM....

Well I ordered a usb copy of windows 10 home from amazon, scheduled delivery date Aug. 20 to Aug. 22. I'm going to clean install windows 10 on this mach. I could have upgraded from 8.1 but decided to just buy a copy.

If you install the update then give it time to activate you can still do a clean install by getting a copy of the Media Creation Tool 64, then creating a DVD or Thumb Drive you can can do a clean reinstall. . .no cost. . .Good luck whichever way you go. . .:)

can't imagine, unless one lacks an activated win 7 or some version of an activated win 8; hacked installs are quite challenging, when it comes to getting any sort of support from Microsoft. I've done it, but had to lie my *ss off while standing on my head...BUT afaik the paid legit win 10 and the 'free' upgrade win 10 are exactly the same in all respects, support included...

and I have no use for external physical media, unless what I intend can not otherwise be accomplished; I have encountered no example of that since I upgraded (for $10.00USD if I recall correctly) from win 7 years ago...
