Auto Hide taskbar fails on desktop Build 10130

    Hi there

On a desktop with a large monitor (set the display size to 150%) the auto hide taskbar no longer works -- at boot it functions OK but then stops working.

Not a mega issue but I do like to have the taskbar hidden usually.

On a laptop with INTEL display driver works fine both on a physical machine and as a VM (VMware workstation 11). Desktop has one of those wretched Nvidia drivers ---- NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!!!! More trouble with those drivers than anything else --EVER. (Not just windows --they also cause mega probs on Linux too).

    Cheers

So I've narrowed the behaviour down a little. I use two monitors with taskbar enabled on both. Once I've used the windows start button on a particular monitor the taskbar on that will no longer want to auto-hide. If I then use the windows start button on the other monitor auto-hide on the previous monitor will suddenly work as intended.

So it's as if the focus on the windows start button somehow prevents the taskbar to auto-hide on the monitor on which it was last used.

There is a fix though. Once you've pressed the "search" button next to the windows start button (and supposedly removed 'focus' from the windows start button) the taskbar will once again auto-hide as intended.

I am using a simple Dell OptiPlex as a media centre connected to a Samsung HDTV via HDMI only. I too have the same issue with 10130, I know that I am experiencing the same issue, as your fix works for me ;-) thank you a great deal for posting it.

Have you tried setting it to show the taskbar on only one monitor? Do you have Search as an icon, or as the search bar? Try using the opposite.

I can't recreate your problem in 10147, so maybe its fixed. Or it only affects certain people.
