I ****ing hate Microsoft so much for this shite
I ****ing hate Microsoft so much for this shite
I have this same issue for 14915 as well as 14926.
BTW, 14901 works fine!
I can map the NAS shares but the devices are NOT visible in Network in Windows Explorer.
I can see the shares using net view \\<NAS-Name>
but with net view, I get System error 1312 has occurred. A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated.
This same command (net view) works fine in 1607 (14393.187)
In the Insider preview, I had problems mapping my NAS shares when using the MS login, but worked OK using the local login.
I can access the NAS via Kodi and Android and all is fine, just cannot see in explorer.
Not wrong, it is STILL DOING IT. Fix it, ruin it, fix it, ruin it.
Has anyone considered going back windows 7?
Sounds like good advice, I thought by taking part I'd be providing good support and help on fixes and updates and suggestions. I'll have to opt out tonight
I have Win 7 Pro installed on Living room media center PC, MBR media center PC & 2 of my "Play With" (see My System Specs) and these will NEVER migrate to Win 10! I use Windows Media Center on both of the media PCs as well as the Play With. Until another media PC setup comes along that will work as-well-as or better-than WMC, these PCs will stay the same!!
Granted, I need to keep 3 remotes on the coffee table (DirecTV RC65RBX, Microsoft "Green Button" remote and Samsung BN59) but, without ever getting up off of the couch, I can watch our choice of DirecTV HD DVR, PC Media Center saved programs and Samsung Smart TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix (both of which are HD)!
Can anybody in Microsoft figure out a reason to stick with the P@#$ Poor offerings that they are offering now?
It's got even worse tonight, I can't even access the web from the damn thing. Having to hope this restore point fixes it so that I can opt out of the Insider program. I know, I know it says not to use if it's your main PC, but I've beta tested loads of software before and never had a problem as large as this.
Well, I downloaded the 14931 update and STILL no fix for the network-discovery, all I can see is the computer
that the OS is on. I cannot understand how they can get it So wrong considering this issue is not evident in the retail build.
I have 3 network drives on the system (1 NAS and 2 Mybooks) each with an IP address and they do NOT show at all in my network but they show as media devices.
I wonder WHEN MS will fix it? I have sent 3 reports to them and am about to send another yet, they worry about "games"? oh well.
