    It would be nice. As soon as it updates my Symantec's drivers, the touch pad stops working. It then have to remove the device reinstall and reboot.
    Usually good for a couple of reboots, then have to do it all over again.
    That sounds like a problem with Symantec...

    I have no idea why someone would do that, since there's no such thing as a "touch pad screen". What exactly are you talking about? Either it's a touch pad, or it's a touch screen.. and I've never seen Windows 10 install drivers for either if you don't have one...

    Although, if you're using a laptop, you may be in the situation where the hardware exists internally, and is identified by Windows, but they did not install the external hardware to save money.
    Ok you confusing me! what is touch Pad? or touch pad screen? after you explain me this, i may agree with your response,
    if the way i understand touch pad screen=you can use the screen with your fingers as you do on an IPOD phone!for that i don't think my old Laptop an HP DV-6 1259DX;64 Bit Intel Centrino duo core CPU 2.00 GHZ P7350
    6GB Mem,Video Card Intel 4500HD,has the touch-pad function!

    That's a Touch Screen. A Touch Pad is the pad below your space bar on a laptop that you use to move the mouse around.

    There is no such thing as a "Touch Pad Screen". If you have a laptop with a touchpad, then those touchpad drivers are also used by the touch screen hardware (they do double duty) and some touch pad drivers simulate touchpad swiping gestures. This is a feature provided by the touchpad driver manufacturer, though, not Windows.

    And the discussion here is not about the touch pad in particular, because every laptop has touch-pad,but rather about Synaptics SMBus TouchPad which means
    you can control OPS with a pointing pen or fingers,instead of with a mouse or touchpad.and my HP doesn't have Synaptics SMBus TouchPad

    The driver issues are almost certainly intentional. Its hard to identify them if people just keep running old drivers, they only get fixed if enough people scream about it.. and if your drivers keep getting replaced with broken ones, then scream about the broken drivers in the feedback tool so they can get fixed.
    Yes I can see why they might want to do that to flush out problem drivers.

    However if the drivers break it so badly that you can't run it without getting Blue Screens of Death (which has been my experience), then it's optimistic to hope people will succeed in using the Feedback tool. When I tried writing feedback on 10074 a couple of days ago, the computer crashed before I could submit it.

    I'm just hoping they auto-log crashes somehow and send them back to base quicker than I can type feedback...

    Ok i understand now,

    now it seems to me nothing is being updated on build 10074 because of • Synaptics driver update for Synaptics SMBus TouchPad - drivers that are ready to install,if i install these Laptop freezes and reboots with error DCP watchdog violation ,if i uninstall • Synaptics SMBus TouchPad and reboot and things seem to get to normal,
    also there was also an update for Defender that was not installed because i have to have to install this • Synaptics driver,
    also when i uninstall Synaptics SMBus TouchPad i go to the updates and have this;

    (There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:
    Synaptics driver update for Synaptics SMBus TouchPad - Error 0x80070002}

    Yes, this is a very well known problem. There are a few threads about it in the Microsoft forums. At least one workaround.

    thanks Mystere; but this will not solve about getting MS updates due Synaptics SMBus TouchPad - drivers that are ready to install,and nothing else will install if we do not install this not needed drivers.

    Yes, that's the point of the workaround, it only affects device drivers.

    Hi All,

    David

    To Run SFC /SCANNOW Command in Windows 10

    Note
    This option scans the integrity of all system files and repairs files with problems (ex: corrupted or modified) when possible.

    1. Open an elevated command prompt.

    2. In the elevated command prompt, type the command below, and press Enter. (see screenshot below step 3)

    sfc /scannow

    I am in a area that I know next to nothing about, but have seen this "sfc /scannow" in posts before. I ran it and have generated 2 logs in the CBS folder. The report said I had errors and it has fixed them? I viewed the log, not sure what to look for, but am just curious thats all..
