Do you remember how to get to that spot? I can't find it.
I don't need it right this moment, but there was a time I could have used it.
I had a video driver that kept trying to reinstall itself. Seems to have quit for
now, but you never know, might start up again someday, that setting would come in handy.

@Edwin ok that's much faster, I didn't think of that.

You didn't he should have read the post anyhow. It's just I should have remembered to use search myself, specially when I forgot where the settings where.

Step on my turf any time you want to, Edwin. The more ways there are to do something the better I like it. :)

The doh was for me. His way to get there was faster. I use to use search all the time on 7. on 8 I have everything either pinned or use the desktop toolbar and follow the crumbs(flyouts) to get where I want to go. I think 8 made me lazy.

I used Firefox's extended support release channel, and the latest version *really* doesn't like Build 10074 for some reason.

LOL, in 10 years I am dead. Won't need any apps any more.
Then why worry about whatever new fangled thing comes out now that will not become the majority of users until after you're dead?

Right, I don't worry. I just observe. I never worry. I can always manage. I just wonder what will happen to the poor souls in my computer club and users alike.

I'll have to hunt that up myself because 10 STILL insists it knows better than I which audio driver this beastie needs. It obviously doesn't, or it wouldn't keep killing my 5.1 sound. Yes, it has six little speakers, including a cute little sub-woofer about the size of a 50c piece. Although not terribly loud, the quality is surprisingly good, so I do tend to notice when it isn't there. And yes, the 'old' driver still works just fine.

So yes, I'm up again with build 10074 installed as an upgrade over Win 8.1, took ages but that's only because my main drive is slow. Gotta get an SSD soon. I've only had a quick look around so far, but IE crashing and locking up both times I started it isn't promising.

Anyway, I'm off to have a look around, play with it a little bit, explore under the hood, do a bit of tweaking, and generally stuff about with it. But as it's now after 4am here <gasp!> most of that will perforce have to wait until tomorrow.

< EDIT: Ditching the Google toolbar seems to have helped with IE. Hmmm... MS wants to push Bing, so the Google search goes pear-shaped - coincidence?? Also the registry hack to return Windows Update to the Ctrl Panel seems to be borked, and Classic Shell kills both the Metro start menu and the 'guts menu' as well. Will fix it later, too tired now.... >
