Yes I know so what is the point? I always just update. I also read on their blog that using leaked builds may prevent you from getting further updates. Trust me MS knows what build you are on.

The point is F-U-N. Fun.
Without reading anything, we should already know that leaks are disposable builds. No update. No upgrades. And that's bad news mostly for those who do dual boot. Why does it matter if MS knows what build we are on? I have 3 builds installed on my PC.. 10041, 10049 and 10056.
It said on their blog that MS can stop letting you download further builds if you are using a leaked build. That is why it matters. This may be just a Bluff from MS, I don;t know. I do know that you cannot update to 10061 from 10056. The only difference I can see between 10049 and 56 is the Recycle Bin is different and the task view button.
should be a official build next week at build conference
Looks like 10061 may be available now.
Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10061 now available
