    Windows 10 Build 10049

    Hello,

So I have encountered some problems.

I upgraded from build 9926 to Build 10049, which resulted in my 'Owner' user to be locked at the log-in screen. when I bought the laptop not even a week ago, i upgraded the OS to Windows 10 from windows 8.1. It has never been associated to a live account but everything worked on build 9926. When I reverted the install back to build 9926, everything but the Start menu and Notification center was working. I assume there is some file issues with the system and it needs a clean re-install, but was wondering if there are any other remedies?

Not a great move to give up Win 8 for a tech preview. If you still have the option to rollback to 8 before totally losing it, do so.
Otherwise, the best solution is to do a clean install of 10041 then upgrade to 10049.

I'm using this version of Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, Build 10049 installed on my laptop Dell Inspiron 1525. I want to share my impressions and ask some questions.
1.First of all, the installation of the updates spent me about 5-6 hours of waiting.
2.After the first updates, my laptop completely freezed and I had to switch it off manually.
3.I had problems after that, because the Windows wasn't booting. I did some tricks to make him boot again.
4.I noticed that, after the updates, the start menu freezes sometimes and the names of the programs in the start menue are apearing with their pc language names and functions.
    5.The store doesn't work.
6.I saw the programs coming with the updates (Korea Media Player Center & Messenger), but they also don't work at all.
7.Some x86 programs don't work under Windows 10, even my antivirus program is buggy(app tray doesn't appear and the program doesn't work at all).
8.I don't know why, but my cpu and hdd are overloaded sometimes by processes related with my Windows system files.

This are my reports about build 10049 and I hope you will look at it.
My question is, until when the evaluation copy will be active for the testers?

    Hi

They had some kind of bug that downloaded all the language packs with the install, that's why you are seeing the Korean stuff, that caused the install to be very long.

It happened to me too, and the install took about 4 hours instead of the usual hour or less.

The evaluation copies will be active until Windows 10 goes live, but you will be forced to keep upgrading to new builds until that happens.

They don't give you a choice if you ignore them it will just start updating.

For what it's worth, I'm having no problems with any third party software.
All of my programs and games work as well or better then in any other version of Windows.

I can't say the same for Windows features, I have quite a few bugs there.
Like no text to speech, either Cortana or the native text to speech software.

My sound quits working randomly, and some other minor things.

I don't get the search window on the right side of the screen.
What's it supposed to search for?

It doesn't seem to find anything!

Why does the New Notifications window always say click here for more information but never do anything when you do?

    Etc.
