I Booted up Windows 10 Build 10049 Today

Everything seemed to be normal. Then I went to install a Program and it would not install, it gave an error "This is for Windows 10, You are Running Windows 8" . So I tried to do one of those resets that MS was bragging about. I can remember before 10 was released that the reset would be real fast and quick. Well it said that it will not delete any of my personal stuff like pictures and videos and would keep ONLY the apps that were installed from their Store. Any programs that I installed would be remove. Well I was OK with that, and started the operation, it said it would take a few minutes. Forty minutes later it was re installing 10049. I stop it, cleaned the disk and I am back on Seven. I will wait until the May surprise before I ever attempt to us Windows 10 again.

You know Gary, you could try a clean install.

    +1 for Chuck's suggestion

Simple Rule: "If everything else fails, do a clean install." :)
