*twiddles thumbs* How do I force Win10 to update?

    Took machine back to Win8.0.

Used media create tool to go straight back to Win10. Dumped me onto Build 1511.

Verified MS Account, Trusted This PC and set Insider Builds to Fast Ring.

Restarted. Still at here on 1511. Tells me my machine is 'up to date'.

    64-bit Windows 10 Pro build 14955

Keep checking off and on. Sometimes it can take up to 24 hours to become available.

    It's soo infuriating though.
Why won't it just come through?
Nowhere I can go online to grab the latest version iso or something?

    64-bit Windows 10 Pro build 14955

The lastest Insider ISO available from Microsoft below is build 14332 instead of the latest 14342.

    Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 14342.1001

If you have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability\RecoveredFrom key in your registry and the build listed in there that your waiting for you will never get the build until there is a new one out. Windows 10 will ignore it due to you recovering from it. You can delete the RecoveredFrom key safely and should get the new build after a reboot and a few minutes wait. RMMV. (goes for anyone that rolled back from a build)

Thumbs.db and desktop.ini files. Do these need to be visible?
Yes... jt's just a nit... Any improvement in what people use for hours on end every day would likely be appreciated, IMO. I understand what the Thumbs.db file is for.... we've had them in Windows for forever. Do we have to continually look at...
