build 10041 To FORCE clean install from ISO (made via Kari's method)

    Hi there

To FORCE a clean install if you are using the ISO (or USB created from the ISO).

    1) download something like GPARTED.

    2) delete existing C partition

    3) now boot the ISO / USB stick.

If you don't delete the partition Windows just goes into that Install method showing the Circle and does an update --you don't get presented with an option.

It works MUCH better with a CLEAN install.

Note --VM users on VMWARE -- -workstation 11 has a couple of problems with taskbar and system icons - also UNITY mode goes into a loop until you exit unity mode. Revert back to workstation 10 (or VMPLAYER rel 6) to fix.

AUDIO (on REAL machine - not VM) -- : Hoses up after ist re-boot -- to fix go into device manager -- click against properties in the Audio driver and simply choose ROLL BACK driver. I had the VIA audio driver installed by Windows which hosed up audio (set headphones as default -- also no APP would play sound - although Windows sounds were fine. After ROLL BACK to the Ms HD audio - working properly.

As always BACKUP any existing system you might want before wiping your "C" partition.

    Cheers

Your title got me for a second! :) From your title I thought you meant build 10041 was going to force use to do a clean install.

Odd. I got the option to format the C: drive during the install - didn't need to wipe it first.
