One thing you might want to try as an option would be stopping the builds on your physical side now that the present build is running good and set up a 10 VM to run each newer build for the look. You would start off downloading the 10586 to save in iso form and allow that to upgrade into the 14291 and continue on from there. With several 10 VMs going here to two completely separated systems none have been found to be buggy while the TH2 update after a 2 1/2month run did!

That suggests 10 will still be needing bug repair for some time still. Run the 14291 until it starts acting up and then re-enable the Get insider builds option again to watch as the next available new build at the time corrects the goofs! So far the update to the 14267 missing a few builds on the main here has now seen each new build as an inplace upgrade to update without the bugs others have been running into by keeping things consistent. No major hardware or software changes since settling on what I would be running on 10 by the time the TH2 was seen. Just something I thought I would suggest here.

thanks for your input, folks; fortunately, at this point, the latest insider preview from 2 days ago is working perfectly for me once again, so I will probably stay in the program for the time being.
But I will keep this info, and use it if things go bad again...
Good to hear you will stay with the Insider program.
