Is it just me or is Microsoft trying to take all control away from the user? Even being logged on as admin am still getting "access denied" errors all the time. Same goes when I try same actions logged in with the system admin account. Not trying anything spectacularly crazy or anything. Just want to install drivers and my programs. There is also an issue, particularly with Visual Studios 2013 where won't install and if you try and use compatibility settings will somehow mark that you tried installing with compatibility troubleshooter and will give additional error about that on all future install attempts, even if you try to install not using compatibility troubleshooter. Have not found how to fix that and just disabling compatibility troubleshooting in group policy is not working.

Are you all reporting these issues with the app? I haven't had any of those. The big I have is when I shut down and start back up or my laptop goes to sleep and wakes up my wifi isn't there. A restart after either and it's back working.

Sent them a message on windows insider app about it. Saw exact issue from others on main MS support site and so far their only response is to run system restore or reinstall. Which is lame, especially considering that all my previous restore points up to yesterday are all gone and all previous before build upgrade are gone as of the install of 9926. The RE environment also no longer recognizes my saved system images if I boot to any of the tech preview ISOs including the 9926 ISO. Sys images are on external hard drive and the drive is being recognized, just not showing the saved past images.

It sounds to me like you're one of those people that always has to tweak things to be how they want it, but the problem is that you're trying to make it like previous versions of Windows and this version of Windows won't work like that anymore, and thus breaks.

First, You're not supposed to run as Administrator. It's off limits now. It's only purpose is for recovery. Running as administrator disables a whole slew of things and will cause all kinds of problems because permissions just won't work.

Second, I bet you disable UAC and make other tweaks, which again, causes all kinds of problems. Windows is now designed to work with a standard user account, with UAC. If you don't like that, you're going to keep having problems by trying to tweak it. Further, don't change permissions on system folders. This will cause you more grief.

Finally, SFC is broken in the Windows 10 previews and doesn't work. Your system is not corrupted because SFC says so..

Eric, why are you putting so much effort into a preview ? Just use the OS as it`s meant to be used, as a Guinea Pig . The file system hasn`t been right since day 1, and it`s useless to try and fix it. Just use 7 Let the Guinea Pigs run free :)

Yes, you,re mostly right. Am tweaking things I don't like or don't work. Like Win Update. If don't use the tweak to bring back the old UI it doesn't work. The PC settings tab doesn't want to open or freezes up and now update is not on control panel anymore. Tried pinning PCI settings to the task bar but when try to open it later either it's unresponsive or gives that error like its a missing shortcut. The one that's says " the file you are trying to open is no longer located at c:" and asks if I want to delete it. I'm able now to run the system refresh now but that has its own issues and uninstalls programs so that their license keys don't work anymore. Doesn't move or remove the files from crograms but removes icon/shortcut off the desktop and have to reinstall every time. I wish they would make up their mind about account types. Many of programs I'm trying to install won't install unless run as admin used.

I did notice that something wrong with SFC now. Get to 2% and the stops with resource protection unable to complete. Is that what others are seeing? It was working, I think it started after most recent updates.

Actually it's broken in Windows 10 TP. Microsoft will probably fix it in the next preview build, at least I hope !
