    Hi there

Not sure what you mean by "buggy". - Cortana is still WIP so any problems with that in my book can't really count as "Buggy".

I'd bet that for 99% of typical consumers Windows 10 is about as stable as any Windows version I've seen so far - and considering it isn't even near RTM stage that's pretty good. Even the "beloved XP" system went through a few months of agonising updates etc before it reached a decent level of stability -- but people have short memories.

Apart from a lot of Touch applications there are a few glaring errors but they don't actually stop the OS from functioning - although Networking sometimes - especially volume (Disk) sharing seems to be a bit hosed up --but Windows Networking has ALWAYS been a dog so what's new.

I've no problems actually in using W10 as an everyday OS currently -- especially if upgrading from W7 - I think most people have sorted out the main things that need to be fixed -- so perhaps in the next release.

To say W10 is Buggy implies that stuff doesn't run or the OS is "not ready for prime time". While there ARE certainly errors in it I don't think that it is in any way UNUSEABLE and I think we are all looking for improvements in the next build - including Touch for those that are using Touch devices. The desktop issues seem to have been addressed just fine now (possibly apart from the ongoing Menu rows -- I still think there's a residual Windows 8 mentality lurking behind the scenes somewhere at Ms --hopefully this will soon be flushed out and eliminated.

    Cheers

I couldn't express my feelings better than that. I agree with every line of your post. As I already said in other posts I've been using Windows 10 (9926) for production purposes, and except by some minor bugs, all my job is beeing done without scare. I'm running it on real hardware on a secondary computer, and obviously I have backups of everything that matters in my external disks and in my main computer. Of course Windows 8.1 is still there, but just in case of an unexpected catastrophe. I really hope that RTM will be an excellent OS, and I have no doubt that I'll be upgrading all my rigs to Windows 10 as soon as it hits RTM.

    Vlad.

I'll guess that you're referring to my buggy comment - you didn't really address your post to anyone so I had to search for buggy.

Buggy means there will be many bugs. That's the nature of development code, as you say a WIP. Still bugs.

Not to bemoan the point ... there are people that have experienced catastrophic errors. That's what I mean by buggy. When a disk drive gets trashed - that not just 'certainly errors' That UNUSEABLE and Not-Ready-For-Primetime.

I haven't had any major issues with 9926, but others have. I expect development code to only be par-baked and that always carries a risk - we accept that risk as Insiders.

Win10 was really Win8.1 update 2 so yeah, it better have been stable back in October. The first real Win10 was 9926 when MS started packing in the WinPhone features. The next releases are slated to work more towards that Universal platform and add a new Internet Explorer engine. This is going to be buggy - as expected.

Hope that answered your question, if in fact it was asked of me.

There's a lot of work that needs to be done to make Win10 a consumer product - when MS gets Win10 to a beta stage, things will be much more stable. We all know that - right?

Well, I must be an exception to the rule, because I have had nothing but problems with Windows 10. The last build i mounted it with VMPlayer, because prior builds wiped my hard drive before (I won't chance that again). And many of their own apps don't work properly, example music app, doesn't load all local music, you have to fight with it to scan everything. Feedback, Cortana, search doesn't work properly. There a other problems too, granted it will run, but it doesn't run properly. So, in my estimation it is the "buggiest" build of all previous.

In all honesty, he has no control on when the builds do come out.. all he does is report some information on them.
