    Hi there.

Thanks for the suggestions -- just seems a bit imbecellic to me to leave email addresses open to public view even if you use aliases - would be much better to have a "Lock screen" with just the user ID on it or when enter is pressed a prompt for password or logoff / shutdown.

With all the talk of security this topic AFAIK is barely mentioned anywhere -- I can't really believe this is of zero importance to loads of people. Maybe it is !!.

    Cheers

Seen lots of complaints on other forums.

You can do the registry edit if you are prepared to enter email address each time.

TBH - it is just as easy to use a local account, but sign in locally to store, Cortana etc.

Since 10586 came out, I have not found anything that cannot be normally done this way (except some syncing stuff perhaps), and on odd occasion you might want to use an MS account, you can easily switch.

    Create an MS Account alias:

Sign in to your MS Account online, go to 'Your Info', then 'Manage your sign-in email or phone number', add a legitimate, (but unimportant), email then make it primary.
Then sign into your PC with that email.
The problem is, doing this all email sent from that account will show "Sent from" address as that primary alias. If your real MS email address is MyMainEmail@outlok.com and youcreate an alias MyJunkEmail@Yahoo.com, all email sent from that account will be sent as MyJunkEmail@Yahoo.com.

Your friends and contacts you send email will see this junk email account as your email account.
