    Free for Insiders?

    Hey,
Im buyin a new workstation soon and someone told me, that if Im a member of Windows Insider and I'll install Win 10 (normal instalation using CD/Pendrive) and login to my Microsoft account during instalation (in activation process) this will give me free licence to use Win 10 forever for free on that PC.
Is this true? Windows Insider members really get free Win 10 license?

Before Windows 10 was released, you could get 'free' version provided you continued to stay in the Programme.

However you can no longer join the Programme if you do not have a qualifying licence.

My friends says that he has the full version of Win 10 Pro for free and all he had to do is to allow Microsoft to update his windows to pre-relase versions (for tests).
    Well, bullshit then. Thanks!

For Testing are the key words. Sounds to me like you are looking for an OS to use as your normal day to day OS and if you want that for free (legitimately), then you should be looking at Linux instead of Windows.

First, most likely when you buy your new workstation, it will already have Windows 10 installed. Most new computers now come with Windows 10.

Secondly, if you should get a computer with Windows 7 or 8.1, you do get a free upgrade to Windows 10. Once you have Windows 10 installed, you can go into Settings>Update and Security>Advanced and follow the yellow brick road to join the Insider program.

However, if you just want the free Windows 10, don't bother to go to join the Insider program.

Anyone can join the Windows Insider Program even today, with or without a qualifying license. Those Insiders with a qualifying licenes can then opt in for build upgrades if they want to.

It's not BS: If you joined the Windows Insider program before the launch 29th of July, 2015, and if you had a qualifying Windows OS installed, you could start using the pre-launch preview builds of Windows 10. On July 29th you could then upgrade to the official release of Windows 10 (build 10240) and continue using Windows 10 for free for as long as your device works (the Insider free license is not transferable).

The same free offer is still valid: you just need a valid and activated Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. If you have any of them installed, or a valid product key for any of the versions mentioned, you can upgrade to or install Windows 10 for free if you do it before the end of July 2016.

Windows 10 is still free for about five months, but to get the free 10, you need a valid 7, 8 or 8.1.
