That's what the insiders want.. faster build drops and that's what we're going to get.
Well MS still needs to keep people busy you know! Can't have testers sitting around staring at walls all the time with nothing to do!

Thanks, Night Hawk, for the info. I am sorry if I repeated myself.

The new app for the fast preview option is good news! It seems to me that MS is being more transparent with Insider builds.
That's a good thing in my book.:)
Well the Insider Program was a bit of a spinoff from older membership type evaluation programs MS had years back while the beta and RC builds for 7 were right out in the open for anyone to download. Since that time however MS was forced to tighten security up a bit for some obvious reasons and now requires people to either sign up to participate and collect more feedback or simply enable the "Get insider builds{ option now being brought in by 10 since MS has changed the playground by now seeing each new build delivered directly by the updates process.

Apparently or from I could suspect as to why some are now not seeing the latest build is due to something either missing or there's a limit on the number of upgrades in a row you can see before a clean install is required as well as how active you have been in the Insider program itself as another possible item. I think the least active or those not even on the program are simply ending up on the last edge of things while the most active are seeing the leading edges as far as seeing each newer build arrive.

Here with not seeing any check for updates and one stubborn Windows Defender update refusing to go on kept the Home VM from then seeing the 14257 build ready to go on. Then suddenly since there was no av program not even the VM option available downloaded and put to use added the VM got the latest while the physical 10 install seems to be lost in Limbo for some reason likely from not running it for a period of time. Will update ASAP however if and when the latest should appear.

Oh did you order the parts for the new build? Or you referring to the ??? 14687? or 15022? or.... you just never know for sure with MS there!
Here I would have to contemplate an entirely new only after 7 was gone for good or would be gone for good when going to replace the present build now 5yrs. old and still running strong where the newer hardwares might not see the driver support. The same had been 11yrs. back for keeping an XP/98SE dual boot across two drives going when the new boards only saw back to 2000 and then Vista arrived ruling 98 out entirely! Once 7 arrived the lean was then on the 64bit OS leaving Legacy and Linux to the VMs!

Do you imagine Microsoft will issue a new build just because your are interested, or, do you think people here have some special secret inside idea, or are you just opening a thread for no reason?

    I'm just interested.
In answer to your question, no I am not so vain as to think that Microsoft will release a new build just for me. I was theorizing that Microsoft will likely release another build soon as they are introducing new builds to the fast ring at a rapid-release pace now.

As far as opening a new thread. I will open new threads to gather input on topics that interest me. Other posters have shown an interest in this thread. There have been 15 posts on this topic so far.

That's what forums are about to begin with! :) How else do you expect to learn thing except by asking questions? As far as that thread in particular it was good that you did post it since it appears many have been running into the exact same situations were the same questions are being asked! As for why the second case with 10 host drive hasn't seen the 14257 while the VM on the 7 side there did is still a puzzle that I can only speculate about for the time being.

It didn't see the other two 11092 and 14251 builds that came in between the latest and the Threshold 2 update either but wouldn't have since the system wasn't in use for a period of time while busy on another unrelated project. Plus we don't know if the 14257 was suddenly halted for some reason when some new bug was uncovered they didn't want out where they put a halt to the build? Or it could simply be from the VM seeing instead of the physical at the same location? Anything is possible while I will still be waiting and checking to see if the primary 10 install sees it or not.

I hope they do, and, I hope it does something new. The last few have been a bit underwhelming really. We'll see I guess...

Well the finding here has been once I got past the 10240 for a fact and later past the 10565 while the 10576 wasn't on actually long enough for a good evalution there the 10586 and TH2 smoothed the works out while some seemed to still be running into upgrade problems coming from previous versions. The upgrades of 10 over 10 however not so good from the 10240 to 10565 but the rest all seemed to go well. The main here saw a couple of those on the 10 drive that will continue to run the TH2 however until TH3 is out.
