Winver on Build 9926 Expiry now shows as OCT 1st 2015

    Hi there

I'm surprised there's been NO comments on this yet (at least none that I've seen).

If you run WINVER on build 9926 it shows the panel with an expiry date of OCT 1 2015 -- good reason for people to upgrade if they haven't done so already.

I checked this BTW after the latest set of updates.

    Cheers

    Hey Jimbo,
Yours expires Jan 10, 2015, mine expires Oct 1, 2015!
(You get 5 extra hours though!) :)

    Hi there.

remember to set the DATE and Locale format's correctly. That's what the confusion is. The one thing the US irritates me on is their Cackhanded DATE system. For Gawd's sake either have yy/mm/dd or dd/mm/yy but not that hodgpotch neither nor version -- leads to a lot of ambiguity and confusion.

It's MM/dd/yy (I'm on a US VPN and downloaded the US version since I want to test Cortana - not available yet outside US - at least it doesn't work properly outside US so a VPN to "poodle fake" the region --same VPN as I use for my NETFLIX).

If mine really DID expire on Jan 15 it wouldn't be working now !!!!!!

    Cheers

Hey Jimbo45 I posted in your 1st thread Extension of W10 preview expiry date yesterday after reading an article that labeeman posted that listed the 9926 expiry date.

    Hi there

maybe the two threads can be merged - however this shows that the change has actually BEEN done rather than answering a FAQ.
Some people perhaps deciding to hang on to previous builds might not realize that the extension is now actually IN the latest build.

    Cheers

It expired before it even came out

That`s awesome that they extended the date 6 more months

"good reason for people to upgrade if they haven't done so already."

Upgrade ? From what ? I hope you`re just talking about an earlier build and not 7 or 8 ( totally foolish IMO )
