    Cortana Test Drive-Build 9901

This is about the best I could get out of Cortana on WTP 9901, still buggy as heck!
Apparently you need to have a lot of resources loaded onto a lot of MS apps in order for Cortana to do a lot of things for you efficiently.

LOL, I'm sure it is! :)

Problem is, you virtually have to have every conceivable Microsoft app installed with all settings enabled everywhere and all your information and data and contacts, etc. loaded onto these apps so Cortana will work half ways decently; otherwise it doesn't work to well at all.
So, if you've got privacy concerns, you may as well toss them to the wind because you virtually have to grant all apps access to everything.

If you ask Cortana to play music, it creates an assorted playlist in your music folder.

Hi Edwin. Do you think there will be any advantages to be gained by using Cortana on a desktop PC? I'm curious, as to me, it seems like just another toy to play around with.

    Too early to tell, really.
    Looks promising though.
I think when everything is implemented properly and you're 'connected' in numerous ways, it could be handy.

Hey, LJ. It's getting to be more like HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey. We'll be able to speak commands such as wake/sleep device, take a note, make a reminder, make an appointment, see today's agenda, open a program, etc.

Cortana, open the hatch > Sorry, LJ, I cannot do that.

Fair enough. Thanks for the reply!
