This may seem like nit-picking to you...
I wish someone would tell me what a "nit" is. I cant seem to locate one anywhere
That's because they picked 'em all before you got there. I believe the skill is passed down through the generations. For myself I never could find out what the penny packers pack the pennies into. It can't be coin rolls. The Holy Rollers have that concession. :)

If one is a nitpicker does that make them a nitwit? :)

Only if they have mastered the philosophical aspects of the craft. Apprentices and journeymen are called "wit" prepended with whatever epithet the master feels appropriate.

So I finally got around to installing the newer build of 10....hmmm...

Not liking the window animation. It's like inverse Aero where instead of it kind of flying open facing you, it flies away from you onto the screen. It's actually a tad distracting. Even the window minimize action seems like it's broken or something. It doesn't minimize to the Taskbar, it just disappears halfway through. I liked the fade down animation before, it was subtle and clean. This is just too....2002 Windows Longhorn/Aurora/mac os. It just doesn't fit with the OS. A better alternative would have been to use the Windows 8 style animation for when apps open from Start, dynamic and clean.

It does seem like they are working on making PC Settings be the end all be all of ACTUAL PC Settings versus being just some PC Settings but you have to go to the Control Panel and then back to PC Settings to add a user account and then back to the Control Panel to change window color and then back to PC Settings to change your lock screen. Even from File Explorer, it links to PC Settings. Looks like that wish is coming true! Although I do hope they add EVERY available setting into the new PC Settings, literally drag Control Panel to PC Settings. EVERYTHING has to come through this time around. Networking options look like they're being fleshed out, even dial up is mentioned!

Notification center doesn't do much for me so far, just as on Windows Phone, it's great for system notifications more than it is for third party notifications. Although if they were smart, they'd make Action Center to be what the name states, an Action Center.

Interesting thing I've noticed that's more shifting towards a more friendly error code displaying, instead of the 0x800cb80 whatever error code that is reported, say for example when you're trying to connect to a Microsoft account; it just says to tell you to search for "network problems" from the Start Screen. I'm still having damned networking issues in VMWare Workstation 10 in this build where it cannot and will not connect to anything to Microsoft's end of things, but I can browse just fine. Very annoying.

So far, this build is just a new build, not totally impressed, not disappointed, just ok.

I don't like any of the window animations in any version of Windows (including W7).
    I always disable them.

I assume that some people must like them, because MS keeps including them.

BTW, I don't like the OS X ones either.

If a nitwit is only ½ of the problem, does that make them a halfwit?

I'd say so, esp. if he or she took the 1/2 size yellow bus to school.
