    Preview 10240 iso

    Hi All,

I went to boot up the Windows 10 Preview 10240 yesterday and the operating system will not boot into it. I tried all the troubleshooting options available.
I either had the 10240 preview iso on the drive that got corrupt and now it is lost or I misplaced it
I had to use the usb drive for the Windows 10 Pro in case I have to reinstall my working OS drive.
Can someone post a safe link for the 10240 preview iso so I can download and install to continue testing the insider program. I can get other versions of the insider program but would like to have the last one I installed which is 10240.

    Greatly appreciate any help
    cheers

I managed to find a Windows 10 insider build of 10240 but it is BR. Is that ISO just for British or can I just select language and settings for US? Not gonna bother with it if I cannot change the settings.
I found a backup of 10162 on a jump drive and have installed it but in the Activation section it says the license is expired yet it says this build will expire Oct. 01, I cannot get to a later version. I got updates but not the latest build through updates. when I click on get latest version in the activation section it will not open the store. I tried several fixes but none will open the store.
BTW, so far it is not activated. I did verify the PC and all went well.
Greatly appreciate a bit of help here because I would like to continue to boot into the Insider build every so often.

    cheers

I didn't think there was very much difference between the version 10240 that was made available to insiders and the 10240 that was released? So I think you can use the Media Creation Tool to download the released ISO and then opt back in to the Insider program?

Thank you for the reply DavidY.
I didn't want to change my OS to the Insider program if that's what you were stating. I want to keep my main OS on my 320 GB drive and I want to use my other 250 Gb drive for the Insider Program like I have been doing.
Are you saying it's safe to install the RTM 10240 and opt into the Insider Program on my 250GB and still have my upgrade from Windows 8.1 to the RTM still valid?

    cheers

If I am understanding this correctly...on the 320gb drive you had a Windows 8.1 that you upgraded to Windows 10. Now you want to be on the insider program on the 250gb drive? If that is the case, then just clean install the same version, build 10240 RTM that you have on the 320 gb drive to the 250gb drive, set up dual booting (if it doesn't do that automatically), and then sign up for the insider program on the installation on the 250gb drive. Lots of us are dual booting a Windows 10 RTM install with a Windows 10 Insider install.

@NavyLCDR thanks for the reply. Yes that is my setup.
That is great! I wasn't sure if I done it that way I would have problems with the updates getting confused as to which OS to send the proper updates to. I didn't want to have any problems with my main OS
I will mark this thread as solved.

I finally got back to installing Windows 10 10240 ISO from the Creation Tool on a separate drive. However I did decide to only plug in my 250Gb drive alone and install because it will interfere with my storage drive I have setup for torrents. (The last time I tried to dual boot it set my storage drive to another letter and I had to reset all my torrents. Time consuming)
So I installed and activated and then opted into the "start getting insider builds".
    Now I have a couple of questions ;
Roughly what is the time frame it take for this Windows to detect I want the builds and start updating them?
Also if I decide to unplug this 250GB drive before I get any insider builds and plug in my main drive will that snarl up my original Windows 10 Pro?
The reason I ask that is because right now I have 2 copies of Windows 10 Pro activated and I may need to go back to the main OS within an hour or so from now. I assume it shouldn't but just wondering if there were somebody that this happened to before.
I have Windows 10 Pro running smooth and many apps installed on my main drive.

    cheers

The two separate Windows 10 installations will not interfere with each other except for the items that you set to sync through your Microsoft account if you are using one.
