Well I solved the question using an ISO of last build that I download from an insecure source, but with no problems... See the solution here:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...7333d41?page=3

My problem was my Windows version was a Portuguese version of the OS which is not supported to Insider Preview, and this has nothing to do with display language, but with OS version... as you can see in the link above, although my Windows was in US English and located in US the OS version is a Portuguese version which was downloaded with the upgrade process... and even if you try to make a clean install with the Media Creation Tool, the tool always download your country version of the OS... so the solution was install the build 10547 from the ISO as an update...
Thanks. Tried the wmic command: it shows country code as 47 (Norway). I upgraded from Windows 8.1 OEM (Did come with the laptop) and since I bought it in Norway, it can explain why it is showing 47 as country code.
Did your windows copy still remain activated after the upgrade? Will this make me unable to use any feature designed for the Norwegian version? Also is it possible to change this country code prior to update or after upgrading (want to be able recover if something stops working)?

Answering first your last question, I don't think so. I even don't know where it is set the OS country variation is... Anyway, if you install the ISO of the 10547 build from your actual Windows installation (as an update) prior to boot from that ISO it will remain activated, but you will loose any display language other than English.. you still can have your country keyboard and dictionary but your Windows will be in English... Remember to choose the correct ISO (Home/Pro or Enterprise) to match your actual Windows 10 version...

Thanks again, tried to search, but couldn't find any way to change it.

Managed to change the country code, you had to both change the system language and remove any language pack installed followed by a RESTART of the system. So now I have my system language as English and my ONLY type language is English.

I have not got the update yet, might need to wait some days

Hey, did you ever figure it out? I removed the English (Canada) language pack, but even after a restart, it seems my country code is still 1 (I think that's Canada, though I can't find a list of codes so not sure what US is supposed to be). If that IS what it's supposed to be, then it hasn't changed anything, as no new updates other than Defender definitions pop up. Looks like I might need an ISO to get any farther than 10240.

No, I am still stuck on 10240, but I haven't done anything since last reply. I also think that an ISO is needed to upgrade, but I will rather wait for the non insider build.

    Country code 1 is US

Thanks! It actually seems like it's the country code for both, as there was an update listed on MS's site a while back that said "Fixed country code for Canada from 2 to 1." Regardless, only English (US) and English (UK) are supported for Insider builds, so I still had to remove my language pack. If I have time in the next few days I'll try an ISO "upgrade" and let you know how it goes.

Hey y'all! Check your Windows Update! Despite no other builds ever making their way onto my systems, I got the new one (that was released/announced today) on both of them!
