Fully Activated as Insider until reformat

The PC i was fully activated on has only seen windows 10 previews . Upon release of RTM i was fully activated on Pro

Last week i attempted to update to the newest insider build and my computer would not boot

I could not figure out how to get it to boot so i had to format and install from USB

Since then i cannot get Activation

    Any suggestions?

What build did you install with the USB. And in settings/update&security are you set to get insider builds?

I created USB from media creation on my laptop that is on windows 10

Should i recreate from my other PC that is on the insider program?

I was wondering if i should stay off insider build until it registers or do i immediately opt in the insider build. I tried both and neither activated me fully. I thought this was all tied to hardware which has not changed

Did you make a Windows 10 PRO USB or a Windows 10 Home USB? You can't switch versions.

The activation is tied to hardware. If you are having trouble with activating a clean install on a pc that has previously been activated by upgrading from win 7 or 8 then you should be able to get that done. If you are thinking that you was activated somehow by just being an insider then I am not sure if that is true.

Both my PCs have only run win 10 as an insider and both were fully activated on windows 10 pro. No OS was used before and they were rolled to RTM and fully activated for the past month

its only been when this one had to be reformatted that i lost activation

Sorry my mistake. I thought you ment that you hadnot upgraded the insider build from a 7/8. Which would be the only way to have a activated copy of Win ten pro?

But thats the thing. Both my PCs were insider program devices only. No previous windows 7 or window 8 on the devices and they both upgraded to Pro

    1 pc is fully upgraded
the 2nd had to be reformatted and lost it. only thing i can think of is just go back on insider and hopefully become activated

Ok I see. Yep when I upgraded my insider rtm 10240 it was claiming it to be full activated. Then the 10520 come with an expire date. I am about to roll back and see what happens. But I want to try this new build today first. If you have an insider rtm that says active maybe you should hold on to it
