So, before I go to the trouble, can I install a non-activated 10240 (as I did before), and enable Insider Builds to get 10525? Seems hard to get a straight answer on it.
Cheers All!

First, Jody, go to Home page - Windows Insider Program and sign in with your Windows Insider credentials. Reasoning is that if you can sign in, you're an Insider; if not, well . . . you may have left the Insider Program and not rejoined.
I created a new Microsoft Account with my pen (author) name and credentials, then joined the Windows Insider Program. Once I'd done that, I installed Build 10525 to Lappy 17 and it activated immediately. (This is just another reason to be sure you have a Microsoft Account.
Try that and see what happens.
I never rid of my Microsoft or Insider account. So yes I will try that. Sounds like since then though, Microsoft has made it so that you have to upgrade 7 SP1 or 8.1 even to install Insider builds.
Hello! :)
I have a bug with my current version of Windows 10, I'm looking for the build 10525. Does anyone of you still have somewhere an ESD or an ISO of that build please? You can contact me by MP if you prefer.
By advance, thank you for your help.
