I have it, created on the 12th of July and it is 76.4 megs.
Something has brought my Win 10 computer to its knees. My 16 gig i7 pc feels like an old pentium.
I do not have the $Windows file.
I have checked everything I can think of but it is slowwww.
Anybody else experiencing this? I feel that it has to be something to do with the upgrade but I am clueless.
Well just reading this post I checked this Win8.1 PC and did not find the BT folder
So out of curiosity I checked my wife's Win7 home laptop and it wasn't there but I noticed there was a update and shutdown option. So I clicked on the shutdown and it installed a update and when I rebooted the laptop the BT folder was there with date 2015-07-28 at 8:06 am this morning. Just my luck the wife will get the upgrade before me She only use the laptop for Facebook lol
Will leave mine on all night and hope for best.
cheers
Not sure if it was settled or abandoned, but reading more posts today, it appears that the upgrade is the std size (3+ GB) plus the Day One update (500 MB). At least that's what I'm seeing inposts.
I'm relying solely on the information members are posting.
It was not then is not now that important to me, just a curiosity. I asked sgage, because he and I seemed to both say 'no' during the discussion
I think I have the answer though, it's pretty much as describe in the Winbeta Day One article
Day one patch for Windows 10 features over 1GB of fixes and improvements (download links)
I just came home from work. My main computer, Win 8.1, my laptop Win 7 both pro were off. I turned them on and within 10 minutes and a couple of updates they both had the $Windows.~BT on it. The PC had 3.95 GB and the laptop was 3.39 GB.
Yes, I tried to install and both failed of course..
Both had reservations but I don't know if that made a difference. I couldn't believe how fast the downloads were to the two computers.
What ever they are doing it is working. I now have three computers ready to go.
Wait until your time come and it will be ok :)
Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise for your business
Question for anyone who may know. My wife's laptop got the "get windows 10' app when it was sent a while back and mine was like others here who had to delete the KB file and download again and install before I got the 'app' on my taskbar. Now the laptop got the BT folder and mine still don't have it.
Is it possible that because I am using the same MS account to test the preview that I am not getting the BT folder?
I am not going to log into windows 10 preview until I get the BT folder in Windows 8.1 because it may snarl things up :)
@ BunnyJ ... are you in a similar situation as me?
cheers
My HTPC is running Win 8.1 and I never bothered to reserve a Win10 update. I checked a few hours ago to see if the hidden C/$windows~BT folder was there and it was not. I just checked it now and it is there. Funny thing is that the size is 5.52GB. Under sources, there is once again an install.esd file 2.63GB. So I just wait until MS throws a notification in my direction in the next month or so!
