    The difference is the mandatory update for for certain versions of Windows 10 and its presently undefined life-cycle. The chances are that these are subject to change, depending on Microsoft's experience with the new way of supporting the OS...
    . . .hence, by your way of looking at it that means the mac OSX is also a long living beta. . .
