I have shortcuts for "PC Only" and "Extend" on my taskbar and start screen. When I game I just click the one for PC Only and switch to just my center screen. It's set as the main display. When I'm done gaming I click the shortcut for Extend to go back to triple screens.

About dual display in Windows 10, here's a practical tip for those who like me have a laptop display with smaller resolution and then external display with bigger resolution.

As you know, if you set your external display as your primary display in order to be able to watch for instance videos full screen with better resolution or play your games full screen (surprisingly many games only allow full screen on primary display), the Taskbar can be a pain in the you know where. To start with the main Taskbar with notification area disappears under a full screen program:

Screenshot shows Kodi full screen on my primary display (external monitor on the right), Taskbar disturbingly blocking parts of the bottom as soon as I do something on secondary display (laptop's display):

This looks even worse if you use a vertical Taskbar as I do:

Luckily I can simply unlock the Taskbar on primary display (external monitor), drag it to the secondary display (laptop) and place it there where I want to, and finally lock it again. Now I can watch my videos or play a game full screen on the external display which is set as the primary display, while the Taskbar is only shown on the secondary display:

I used Kodi as an example in above screenshots which is not the best example as it can be set to use full screen on secondary display, but especially many games do not have that option available.
And that, my friend, deserves a tutorial!

Thank you, Mr. Moderator . . . about the possibility of a new forum, not off topic posts. I can live with 'em or without 'em. But it's kinda fun to have a break in all the seriousness. :)
You're welcome. There's plenty more off topic posts you can enjoy. :)

That string of posts was not needed.

    27" Samsung

    Support - LCD P2770FH | Samsung Monitors

And a HP oldie for now until I get my 17" Acer fixed. Also want to get a 3rd. Can't have too much real estate.

Alpha just posted that apps remember where they were last. Just learning to notice quite honestly.

Getting a separate TV for the den next month. Want to watch sports and then without sound, for I dislike most commentaries. I can see scores and what's happening without someone blabbing. I'm almost always listening to music. Slacker Radio mostly.

Always use Alt/tab or if I can't remember which monitor something is on WinKey/Tab. That's why you'll lose with the mouse, no matter how many cats you have.
Glad you got it going satisfactory. I went thru various combinations of CRT and flat panel monitors and it's helping with multitasking a lot. Once you experience it, there's no going back to one. Transition from 4:3 to wide monitors went much easier than I thought it would be. I still can't get real Apps (not desktop programs) to remember which display they opened last but it's not great indifference because I don't use same ones all the time, will have to look at it though.

Works for me, was one of the first things I noticed after the upgrade to 10. Try this, Open an app, put it on the screen you want, close it with the X. Reboot if you want, then open it again and see what screen it opens on. One thing that can mess it up is if you switch from multi monitors to single, while apps are open. They all move to that single screen. then when you switch back to multi monitors, you need to reposition them again. I'm spoiled now, I run dual monitors on my laptop. Sometimes I unplug the second monitor before shutting down and it messes things up.

There are some questions as an Insider, I know would not be relevant to general users, like why my only Activated Upgrade from Preview won't let me sign in as an insider , and Why my upgrades from Preview lost activation on clean installation, yet still consider me an an insider???

    Okay,
so I completely wiped my machine, clean installed Windows 10, (it activated automatically), then clean installed Windows 8.1, (the version I upgraded to W10 with), on another disk/partition, entered the appropriate product key and, voilà, they're both activated, both genuine and both show the appropriate key!

Or why my clean install of the non-7/8.1 upgraded activated immediately. Who knows what Windows 10 will do next. :)
