Perhaps John should create a forum section for 10 Insiders only. Personally didn't upgrade anything to get 10. I feel I ought to be able post my opinions and views as a critique via testing, not as a true blue user.

One of the reasons I won't upgrade my 8.1 is lack of quicker navigation in 10. So far anyway. If they add more shortcut keys then perhaps I will.
I agree, Hippsie, and have thought the same, although I haven't said anything. I wonder, though, if newbies especially would wander in and misunderstand that it was actually a Windows Insiders Preview Group and yell at us for discussing things they couldn't find. :)

Apparently things got a little too personal for some and some posts were deleted. I personally don't see the reason why but apparently we have to edit what we say as not to offend others, even if such posts aren't offensive
Off topic stuff can get deleted too, if it detracts from the thread. They know what they are doing, and do a very fine job IMHO.

Ok. Thanks Kerry. Like I said I'm just learning. This is helpful. :)
Multi monitor support is finally where I thought it always should have been. Very happy with that aspect of windows 10.

Asking this as sincere and polite as I can: Do you mean that opposing opinions should not be told? Do you mean that if you criticize about a lacking feature like not being able to use Start with keyboard, it should not be replied by another member telling that it is possible? That an opinion or critic should never be counter argued?
Actually, no, Kari. What I would expect a Windows 10 Insiders Forum to encompass is just that . . . new Builds that no one in the regular Windows 10 Forum would have.

OK, say that a new build for the Insiders (those who choose to stay Insiders) would have a widget that would let us look at what's actually inside our boxes. Yes, very far fetched, I know. :) Anyway, the Insiders would get this widget and within the Insiders Forum, they'd discuss the pros and cons of it as well as any bugs they might find.

Now, if the Insiders discussed it out in the regular Windows 10 Forum, it would seem to be that things would just get confused.

OK, I'm trying to explain what I think the differences between the two forums would be without stepping on anyone's toes and it's a virtual impossibility! So, I'd best stop here and hope everyone understands what I'm trying to say.

About dual display in Windows 10, here's a practical tip for those who like me have a laptop display with smaller resolution and then external display with bigger resolution.

As you know, if you set your external display as your primary display in order to be able to watch for instance videos full screen with better resolution or play your games full screen (surprisingly many games only allow full screen on primary display), the Taskbar can be a pain in the you know where. To start with the main Taskbar with notification area disappears under a full screen program:

Screenshot shows Kodi full screen on my primary display (external monitor on the right), Taskbar disturbingly blocking parts of the bottom as soon as I do something on secondary display (laptop's display):

This looks even worse if you use a vertical Taskbar as I do:

Luckily I can simply unlock the Taskbar on primary display (external monitor), drag it to the secondary display (laptop) and place it there where I want to, and finally lock it again. Now I can watch my videos or play a game full screen on the external display which is set as the primary display, while the Taskbar is only shown on the secondary display:

I used Kodi as an example in above screenshots which is not the best example as it can be set to use full screen on secondary display, but especially many games do not have that option available.

That's been asked about and may be added in the future after the rush of all the upgrades has settled some.

I cleaned it up, it was off topic and distracting. It had nothing to do with offensive posts.

What did you get for new GPU and monitors ? Did you set taskbar to display Start button on both displays ? I find it easier to use like that, also secondary monitor is set to higher size so if I don't see something small on primary I drag it to secondary to see better,
There's couple of things I don't like, Apps don't open on the display opened on and don't (for most part) remember on which monitor they were opened on previously. I also keep some programs opened on secondary monitor, like Sticky Notes, couple of network monitoring tools, HWMonitor for HW and most of the time windowed TV. Beets switching of active windows to see what's behind. Many other uses like opened Text editor, calculator, picture editor and scratchpad on secondary while using Desktop Publisher on main one. Third monitor is actually a TV with something on all the time, I hate silence.

    27" Samsung

    Support - LCD P2770FH | Samsung Monitors

And a HP oldie for now until I get my 17" Acer fixed. Also want to get a 3rd. Can't have too much real estate.

Alpha just posted that apps remember where they were last. Just learning to notice quite honestly.

Getting a separate TV for the den next month. Want to watch sports and then without sound, for I dislike most commentaries. I can see scores and what's happening without someone blabbing. I'm almost always listening to music. Slacker Radio mostly.

Always use Alt/tab or if I can't remember which monitor something is on WinKey/Tab. That's why you'll lose with the mouse, no matter how many cats you have.

Thank you, Mr. Moderator . . . about the possibility of a new forum, not off topic posts. I can live with 'em or without 'em. But it's kinda fun to have a break in all the seriousness. :)
