<Winkey> Notepad <enter> works for me in 10. Maybe my Pentium 4 is just faster'n yours!
Perhaps John should create a forum section for 10 Insiders only. Personally didn't upgrade anything to get 10. I feel I ought to be able post my opinions and views as a critique via testing, not as a true blue user.
One of the reasons I won't upgrade my 8.1 is lack of quicker navigation in 10. So far anyway. If they add more shortcut keys then perhaps I will.
That's not quite the same thing - Notepad is perhaps a bad example because the application name and the name of the executable file are the same. Winkey on its own searches the application name, but WinKey+R needs an executable file.
"<Winkey>Internet Explorer" is perhaps a better example. (And in that case it's not even in All Apps, even though it's installed. The word 'All' there isn't quite understood by Microsoft on that one.
Still slow on my old machine. If I hobble Cortana by stopping her accessing the web then she speeds up a bit, but obviously then she can't do any of the fancy stuff.
Asking this as sincere and polite as I can: Do you mean that opposing opinions should not be told? Do you mean that if you criticize about a lacking feature like not being able to use Start with keyboard, it should not be replied by another member telling that it is possible? That an opinion or critic should never be counter argued?
I would second that call for an Insider's Forum - I could start several threads there myself, but If I post in any forum here, the number of posts just sends everything onto page 2 in a matter of hours...
I can say "<Winkey>No<enter>" works too! either that or the full "notepad" gives me no delay whatsoever - as long as I don't look at the screen.
