Tentatively scheduled for October, some of those additions will include a new Messaging app to provide Skype integration and extensions support for the Microsoft Edge browser.

Windows 10 testers will start to receive new builds shortly, with the ability to test new features like Microsoft Edge extension support before it's available more broadly later this year.

That's what I'm waiting for - extension support.

Well that means "pack it up" for me. I think I'll bail on the insider stuff. But I will be staying tuned, as I'm sure that Windows 10 is about to get interesting over the next year or so.

Thanks for everyone's help with this installation.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but click on the little text balloon at the bottom right, then on Tablet Mode and see if that helps.
Thanks for the reply. That was the first thing that I tried, it didn't work.

I don't have a touch screen but my laptops touchpad does pinch zoom. It works regardless of whether I'm in tablet mode or not. I run dual displays so I can't use tablet mode even if I wanted to anyway. Pinch Zoom is part of my laptops ASUS Smart Gesture Utility. Maybe check for a utility for you touch screen? Maybe you have to reinstall it, or check its settings?

Thanks for the reply. I finally figured it out. Windows Update installed a new touch screen driver and that was the problem. I rolled back to previous and all works. Let's hear it for Windows Automatic Update!

After testing out Windows 10 on my laptop I decided it was time to upgrade my Win 8 desktop since I found nothing with the laptop to make me gun shy.

This time though I decided to use GWX (Get Windows 10), as opposed to the media creation tool used to upgrade the laptop. And just like the laptop everything went smoothly and without issue - no weird device manager notices, no "this isn't working warnings", no sound or video issues. Not even any weird OneDrive issue like I experienced when I updated my laptop (though that was the only issue).

Anyway the entire process took about an hour, maybe less. Now I'm sure I'll discover something down the line, it is early, but I honestly don't expect any major issues.

BTW I've not even had to update any drivers yet, though that's coming soon as there are some new Win 10 drivers out for my MB, mouse & keyboard, and I'm sure a few software updates here and there, but thus far, I've had no issues, and my major programs are working just fine as is. Now I'm off to do some gaming through both Steam and Origin.

    Later.

Bah. My previous build win 10 crashed--completely corrupted. It was on a partitioned drive and never yet updated to the last build. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted. Fujitsu T732.

Thanks for the link, I knew it was somewhere but couldn't find it. I submitted feedback to MS about the bad driver and by the time I rolled back the driver they had removed the update so I didn't have to use the "Hide/Unhide".

VLC PLayer Updated for W10-coming to Windows Phone Next week

So I am just reading this article on the update to VLC, and noticed this:

The biggest new feature is the mini-player that's been included in the VLC app. Nigro says, "Click the button on the right of the repeat button. Works best on Windows 10, of course." As far as a new Windows Phone VLC update, Nigro says, "Coming at the end of next week if Microsoft releases a new build to the Windows Insiders."

Sounds like Windows Phone may get a new build next week?
