    And how does flash even effect Facebook??
    I use Facebook in FF without Flash and the only thing I noticed is that Facebook videos don't work. I don't use games though.

    If the criteria for disabling application is vulnerability, then we won't have computers for long.

    <s>
    First they disabled flash, and I did not care—
    Because I didn't want it.

    Then they came for java, and I did not speak out—
    Because I can't stand java.

    Then they came for the PDF reader, and I did not speak out—
    Because I didn't like it.

    The they came for MS Office, and I did not care-
    Because I didn't use it.

    Then they came for Windows—and there was no internet left to speak of...
    </s>

    You can simply enable it (as required) by clicking on the plugin icon in the Address bar.

    See strollin's post.

    Gary,

    Technically, it is SeaMonkey there would be no Firefox or Pale Moon. Firefox use to be built from SeaMonkey from the way I understand it. Firefox has switched to some type of internal toolkit and now SeaMonkey is built from Firefox.
    Sorry but When Firefox first came out which at that time was named Phoenix. SeaMonkey did not exist at the time. There may have Been a Mozilla Browser but it was not named SeaMonkey. As a side note the latest release of Flash is NOT being blocked by Firefox, Facebook may be blocking it as I do not use Facebook.

    The Mozilla Suite was codenamed SeaMonkey per the wiki.

    @Gary

    I was told this on their forum. At first, Firefox was ported from Netscape but it is the reverse now because of some type of toolkit they use now.

    I think they might have been referring to Netscape. Aol/Netscape released the code under lgpl. They don't have to give the full source code but they way I understand it is Mozilla now owns the Netscape Source code.

    See my post above. If you are referring to Mozillazine then I can understand the confusion. The MZ Suite was a bloated Browser as is SeaMonkey but when Phoenix came out SeaMonkey was only a codename. All of Mozzila's coding was based on Netscape.

    History

    SeaMonkey Navigator 1.0.2

    On March 10, 2005, the Mozilla Foundation announced that it would not release any official versions of Mozilla Application Suite beyond 1.7.x, since it had now focused on the standalone applications Firefox and Thunderbird.[13] However, the Foundation emphasized that it would still provide infrastructure for community members who wished to continue development. In effect, this meant that the suite would still continue to be developed, but now by the SeaMonkey Council instead of the Mozilla Foundation.
    The first release of SeaMonkey happened on September 15, 2005.[14] SeaMonkey 1 was released on January 30, 2006.
    Core Mozilla project source code was licensed under a disjunctive tri-license (before changing to MPL 2.0) that gave the choice of one of the three following sets of licensing terms: Mozilla Public License, version 1.1 or later, GNU General Public License, version 2.0 or later, GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later.[15]

    Hmm I find this interesting as well.

    About SeaMonkey

    SeaMonkey is built on the open source Mozilla Gecko engine, the same code which underlies the highly successful siblings Firefox and Thunderbird. SeaMonkey benefits from the cross-fertilization with these other projects, by gaining (and contributing) new features and the ongoing security updates which are a modern necessity.
    What do they mean by Siblings? I see this as meaning that Firefox and Thunderbird were forked from SeaMonkey.

    I fail to see how this is news EVERY single version of adobe flash (and Java and all that) has ALWAYS had security issues... I do like how FF blocks them natively now though a lot of sites run their 80,000 ads off flash so no more uber lag when looking things up (for instance the runescape wiki... Yes I am a nerd and I still play occasionally ) so even without the security nonsense I would prefer to have it this way
