Windows Phone is never going to happen. If Nokia had adopted Android it would still be the world's biggest phone manufacturer.
The rumours that Microsoft could dump Windows Phone and use Android with Ms Services makes sense. The lack of Google support has also hurt WP.

I agree with you, it's too little too late for Microsoft. They wasted so much time and resources and then making W10 more WinRT crAPP friendly then desktop/laptop driven O/S for all the enthusiasts, gamers, and businesses that rely on Windows products that are pretty much dominant on the market, why change a good thing?

People get stubborn and stuck on their certain ways. Everyone is either a fan of Apple products for iphones and ipads and all that jazz and eventually dive into a macbook. But there are some that still keep a PC and use apple products for some reason. I have friends with iPhones that use Windows PC's. The same with Samsung, you either go for the android and the cheaper android tablet alternative and go crazy with all the apps and games there and google products and those users still use a PC. Then you have the whole xbox fiascal. Majority of people that got fed up with Xbox and Xbox360 and all the problems, red ring of death, opted for Sony's Playstation as the leading console. Majority of gamers barely even touched the Nintendo Wii and Wii U was a big failure. Once a certain product grabs someone they don't switch. Majority of console gamers are Playstation users. Not one of my peers owns an XBox One, but they have PS4 and they all bash the X360 and the countless problems it gave them.

So this Microsoft mentality to make this hybrid O/S thinking oh yea now people will buy a Windows Phone and a Surface Pro tablet and an XBox One and seam it altogether with our greatest O/S W10 is not going to happen. Only a small percentage of the population will go this way, and when they see that they screwed up royally maybe they will adjust their thinking in the future of the operating system in what they want to do.

Don't get me wrong I like W10 I think its going to be a good O/S when it gets released. I am not a fan of them dumbing it down and removing personalization options (that we need to manually tweak via hacks) to favor APPS. This is a big NO NO and a slap in the face to desktop users. Hell you can't even change the font size of the Start Menu? What good is that to users on 4K res monitors? Windows magnifier to see everything? Double face slap. Favoring tablets with 8" screens held 5" above the face? Sorry MS. People that use Windows, use power. GTX 980's and i7's and SSD's is what I hear when I think about a PC or Windows enthusiast. Deliver me power and flexibility in my O/S. Don't deny me customization or features because you think tablets are the next gen. Until they squeeze a geforce titan with an i7 into a tablet I'll continue to use a PC for power/tasks.

I already have an Android Phone and a cheap-o android tablet, so why would I switch to WP or Surface? I get wifi around the house, play store works perfectly and syncs everything. All the free games and junk and apps you need. I've had a gmail account for 7+ years. I don't own an xbox console and never will. If I want to play a console I hit up a friends house because I'm not into them anymore, and they either own PS3 or PS4. I'm a PC guy and that's what I need. Working WINDOWS on my computer, Win32 API's not a hybrid wanna be O/S with a MS STORE, that won't even compare to Play Store or iStore. It's just too little too late, unfortunately. I don't know why MS even bothered doing this.

And I agree with you that Nokia would have lived on if they adopted Android O/S, because I believe they would be able to make a solid phone that would be cheaper then getting a Samsung Galaxy, maybe not as 'powerful' but I bet it would be very durable and quick and a lot of people would give it a shot, since majority had nokia phones before androids and iphones were the norm, back in the good old T9 keyboard days.

Not bashing but its the truth its just how it is.

Kari, I wasn't ripping on you dude or anyone for that matter. I've had a hotmail/msn account since I was 13. I used to use MSN Messenger like crazy with all my friends. Hell, we even have it running on some computers with a program out there called "Messenger Reviver" Google it. It makes MSN work like a charm again, so yea I've had a hotmail account for 16+ years if more then that.

I was merely stating that a majority of people in North America and Europe prefer using an Android or an iPhone. I was looking through my newspaper flyers today (Best Buy, Staples, etc) and all I saw was advertisements from phone companies for iPhone or Android phone. No one is offering Windows Phone. And Surface 3 tablet is $650. For that price someone can buy a cheaper iPad or very cheap android tablet + phone, or a nice i5 flex 360 laptop with touch screen.

It seems that Microsoft was targeting a younger audience maybe. I was merely saying that majority of users are using iphone or android devices and PS4 gaming console. Not windows phone not blackberry phone or XBox.

I'm glad you have those Windows devices and use them, but I was merely saying that not too many people will go that way. Windows is on like what 90% of PC computer? They are not going to do better by making Phone + Tablet + Console when there are so many other options, and like I said those people will most likely not switch. How many people do you know that have a Windows Phone or a Surface tablet or an Xbox? Because I don't know any ..... is what I was trying to say.

And if it is like that for me, how many other people other there, friends and family use a windows phone or a surface? Because I bet you almost 99% of them are using Android device or Apple device. Only the PC is probably a Windows computer.

So in your comparison, you take the most expensive Windows tablet and compare it to cheap Android tablets or iPad? For your information, with that price I can buy almost 4 decent Windows tablets.

And this with iPad! Why on earth would I need to get one when the Windows tablet which I can get with half of the price is at least as good?

Like I said I am not targeting you. I am saying that these cheaper Windows tablets out there for $200 I have seen here in stores offered by DELL and ASUS, and other companies, people do not seem very interested in buying them. Everyone that is not techy (like most people are not) seem interested in Android or Apple products, is what I am saying.

I said iPAD because everyone always talks and wants an iPAD where I live. I don't like APPLE products or use any, I am stating merely how majority of people think. It's hard for me to explain if you don't live here where I live. Windows products do not seem to catch/target a persons eye. When they go electronic shopping they only think of advertisements and what they see. APPLE APPLE, ANDROID, ANDROID. Oh I need iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. TV: I must buy Sony!

It's mass advertising and how people think. I talked with employees at my local computer store and since they are not an authorized Apple reseller, besides selling laptops, most users are interested in Android devices. Don't ask me why. It's just how it is here, is what I am saying.
